Finally a legit Chinese spot in NYC that’s actually affordable 😭👏 Menu broken into Mountains (meats), Seas (seafood), etc. — super clever 👌 What we got: · Xiangxi spicy beef 🌶️🥩 (so tender) · Red date chicken soup 🍲 (only $8.95 and tastes like home) · Purple clay pot lotus root soup 🫖 (comfort in a pot) · Spicy clams 🐚🌶️ (addictive) · Creamy walnut prawns 🍤 (huge!!) · Dry pot cauliflower 🌸🔥 Service friendly, place stays packed, big private room for groups. ~$30 pp. Will be back 🔁

One of those lunches where nothing misses 🥢 We went to Atlas Kitchen nyc a Michelin-recommended contemporary Chinese spot, and everything was so good. The kind of meal where you’re passing plates back and forth like “wait you have to try this.” The shrimp was perfectly crispy, the sauces were rich but not heavy, and even the simple things like the rice just hit. Really solid spot on the UWS. It's a Michelin-recommended place where you can actually eat for around $30. The $8.95 chicken soup is a must-tastes like it's been simmering for days. Huge portions on the creamy prawns and spicy clams, too. Great service and a beautiful space.

The Purple Clay Pot Rib & Lotus Root Soup is a must-order—it’s rare to find such authentic "powdery" (粉) lotus root in NYC! Our only regret was not ordering two individual portions since the large pot was sold out. The Chicken Soup Rice Noodles was also a standout—clean, flavorful broth with no MSG taste. Great wok hei on the Stir-fried Pork with Chili, though the Chicken Gizzards were a bit too small and overcooked for my liking.

We had an event hosted here and the service/food was absolutely perfect. From conversation, it seemed like people's favorite dishes were the walnut prawns, eggplant, and spicy chicken (which is quite hot!). This place would be my first choice every time for anyone wanting Chinese food near Columbia University!
